A Day for Fathers and their Families
West Park Elementary
On Father’s Day, a fun educational event was held at West Park Elementary School. Families participated in science activities, launching rockets with water and air pressure.
The event was held by the West Park Family Literacy Program, a Reading And Beyond program funded by First 5 Fresno County, to encourage the participation of fathers in parent-child activities.
The purpose of the West Park Family Literacy Program is to educate and empower parents in the rural West Park community to be their children’s first teacher, and to increase literacy activities in the home. The program conducts home visits, parent workshops, and parent-child developmental play groups.
We want to thank all the families that participated, the faculty of West Park Elementary School, and First 5 Fresno County, for such a fun family day.
